Has someone ever told you to “always look on the bright side of life”? What they are essentially telling you is to think positive, look for the positives and forget about the negatives.
In recent times I have noticed a rise in negativity, negative thoughts and negative self-talk. It can be easy for some of us to fall into the downward spiral of negativity, which affects our self-esteem, how we feel about our life and ourselves. If you are currently experiencing this just remember one thing for me, thoughts are just that! Thoughts! The good news…thoughts can be changed and challenged at any time, the even better news… we have the power to change those thoughts! So what are you waiting for?
There is power in Positivity
The power of positive thinking is amazing, and if you can get into the habit of positive thinking, your life is sure to change for the better and you will reap the rewards that optimism brings. Every thought you think is creating your reality, so even when you feel like things are falling apart always try to stay positive.
Positive thinking comes down to attitude, both mental and emotional. The more optimism you hold the greater success you will experience. Training yourself to think and experience good instead of expecting and accepting bad is key! If you spend more time thinking positively your mental attitude changes for the better, as you invite thoughts and feelings of happiness, success, power and energy into your life you will notice a positive change within your psychological and physical wellbeing. Please remember not to put too much pressure on yourself, the change wont happen drastically or over night, but over time will get easier and easier.
Every time you say “NO” to negativity you are making more room in your life for positivity, and this in its self will make an incredible difference in your daily life. By leaving negativity behind and not indulging in negative thoughts when they creep in you are putting your valuable power into action by stopping those negative vibes in their tracks. Make the choice to no longer allow negative thoughts and feelings to zap your precious energy, the aim of the game is to lift you up, not tear you down!
Deciding to adopt an optimistic attitude and getting into the habit of positive thinking isn’t always an easy task, as with anything new you try; you have to work on your craft, practice and work hard at what you are trying to achieve. Put simply, if you don’t practice and put the effort in you can’t reap the rewards! Both positive and negative thoughts are energy, what you think and feel creates energy, which you send out into the universe. At the end of the day the choice is yours, what vibes do you want to send out into the universe?
I believe people who choose to go through life thinking and feeling positive will always hold the upper hand and have better experiences and success, compared to someone who thinks negatively. Not only does an optimistic attitude and positive thinking feel amazing but you will also experience some rewarding benefits. I think it’s time we left negativity at the door and acquaint ourselves with:
- Less stress
- Lower rates of anxiety and depression
- Strengthened immune system
- Better coping skills
- Increased inspiration and creativity
- Increased happiness
- Higher levels of energy
And saving the best for last, positive thinking also increases your life span!!!!
That is definite motivation for me right there!
Positive thinking is catching, positive also attracts positive. The more you put positive thinking into play, chances are you will inspire others to do the same. The more positivity we put out into the world the stronger the positive energy gets, the more frequent positive vibes flow. It just takes one person to make the change, so why not make that person you?
Here are a few exercises to increase your positive thoughts:
- Use only positive words when talking
- Surround yourself with positive people (let them rub off on you)
- Always look at the bright side of life – Smile often – Increase your laughter
- Try to see the good and beauty in everyone and everything
- Count your blessings
- Practice positive affirmations
- Have fun every day
- Don’t take yourself or life too seriously
